User Reviews

I am 5'3" and this bike is too big for me. I tried it in the store. The seat was moved to the closest to the paddles. It was not comfortable for me because it was hitting the back of my thighs when I paddled. Also, I had to stretch my arms to get heart rate. I really wish it would work for me because of its compact size and its low profile console. -- Not for a short person
The bike is small and solid. It pedals quietly. The mesh back is comfy. The adjustable seat is okay. It rolls. The display looks good.

Now the bad. Nobody outside of Taiwan can comprehend the programming of the display. It has no on/off switch (so batteries will be killed fast keeping display lit; rather, it must be plugged in). It doesnt remember a rider from one day to the next. The manual has some steps and tables but no explanation or understandable logic of what it is talking about. For example, when you program a trip it forces you to set the time, distance, rpm, pulse, and calories burned. It seems that most of these should be output, not input. It doesnt have a speaker to make noise if your heart rate falls out of set range, it just slowly flashes the pulse which wont distract me from television. I finally had to take the batteries out so it would turn off, now searched internet, noone explains how to turn on and off or makes any sense of the programming. (im being verbose because I am ticked now after studying manual intently like 3 times and still cant understand it despite being extremely technosavvy). Lifecore, please fire your display development team and manual writers.

UPDATE: so now I have had it for a year. I still have no idea how to program the electronics for anything remotely complex, so I just get on it and pedal and adjust the resistance. The manual remains useless. It has broken twice, and now the electronics dont work at all. The resistance no longer adjusts, so I dont even plug it in. It has maybe been used 30 times. Ive sent for repair parts twice. Wont even bother fixing it again. Downgrading from 4 stars to 2 stars. It remains quiet and comfortable or wouldnt get any stars at all. -- nice bike, crappy lcd display
I own this model and absolutely LOVE it. We did have one problem with the monitor, but two days after I reported the malfunction, a new one arrived at our door. Customer service is unbelievably good!

Furthermore, the size of the bike is perfect. My husband is 6'-4" and fits on the 1000RB without any difficulty--he actually has a little room to move the seat back farther. The mesh seat back keeps both of us cool while we peddle to our hearts' content.

We keep the bike in our living room and although WE notice it, no guest has ever come in to our house and commented on the bike. It's not as though it blends with our decor. It's just so compact that it's not the 800-pound gorilla in the room like so many other exercise bikes.

We use this equipment daily and have put more than 12,000 miles on it in the year since we brought it home. I don't worry about the miles we clock because LifeCore provides very respectable warranties on their fitness equipment. When the day comes that we do wear out our LifeCore Fitness 1000RB, we'll get another one JUST like it!

You can't go wrong with this exercise bike or the company that manufacturers it.

I found this product very difficult to figure out how to use. You can just sit down and start peddling all is good. But I wanted to be able to save my settings and my husband to save his settings. It supports 4 different users. The owners manual does a great job of telling you how to put it together but no where can I find anything that tells me how to use the darn thing. And I am very computer savvy. I have 4 different computers, 2 ipods a kindle and 2 smart phones. But this just is not intuitive. -- Hard to understand
